Rencontre avec Bill Kouelany et DeLaVallet Bidiefono

Rencontre avec la plasticienne Bille Kouelany et le chorégraphe DeLaVallet Bidiefono, venant tous deux du Congo où ils ont ouverts il y a dix ans les Atliers Sahm et l'espace Baning'Art. Cette rencontre organisée dans le cadre de la Biennale Euro-Africa 2025 de Montpellier revient sur des questions liées à la formation des artistes en Afrique, sur les parcours de professionnalisation ou d’autodidactie selon les arts, sur la question des parcours et des conditions de production des œuvres et donc du soutien à la création. Y sont également évoquées les problématiques de circulation des artistes et la question des politiques culturelles en République du Congo. 

Abstract: 

Meeting with visual artist Bille Kouelany and choreographer DeLaVallet Bidiefono, both from Congo, where they opened the Sahm Workshops and the Baning'Art space ten years ago. This meeting, organised as part of the Montpellier Euro-Africa 2025 Biennale, addresses issues related to the training of artists in Africa, the paths to professionalisation or self-teaching depending on the art form, the question of the paths and conditions of production of works and, therefore, support for creation. It also discusses the issues of the movement of artists and the question of cultural policies in the Republic of Congo.
